Damien Hirst with the art of Kota
The Kota figure has come to be appreciated for its sculptural form, in the same way the skulls of Damien Hirst have acquired a resonance beyond the traditional symbolism of transience and death. With the use of metallic foil, both Kota artists and Damien Hirst have enhanced the aesthetic beauty of these symbols to dramatic effect.
